Almost There! Skylar Nears the Celestial Peaktop
After their previous plant discoveries, and examining the odd cookie crumb trail the day before, Skylar and Hop continued to push on the trail to the Peaktop, making progress up the mountainside. Still being aided with the help of the Adventurers' and their pets successful expeditions.
"I know we are so close to the top, It looks like I could just reach out and touch it," Skylar commented, holding a hand out to the Aurora above them. "If only we didn't have to trudge through such deep snow, at least some of the Celestial Snow gear from the Winterlight Machine was coming in handy up here."
Hop made a giggle at this comment as they effortlessly continued to flutter and spring over heaps of snow, stopping to look back smugly at its companion.
Chuckling at their Quibbit, Skylar pulled a Celestial Snowpom Beanie over their head and ears as they pushed past another thick area of snowfall, " Yeah well, I guess I would be having it much easier if I also had wings and powerful legs like yours, hey?"
"If the Adventurers can push for one more day I just know we can break the Celestial Peaktop tomorrow!"
Icelyn Opens her Aurora Bakehouse!
looking up at the Aurora-filled sky of the Celestial Peaks, Icelyn looked back to review the interior of the cozy new shopfront of the Aurora Bakehouse, "Couldn't be a better time to open up our brand new store could it Drift?" She remarks to their snowy-colored companion, who is busying itself stocking the shelves.
Drift turned from a shelf baking goods that it was arranging to give a confident nod of approval to Icelyn. It sits back on its haunches and reviews its progress, twitching its ears to-and-fro momentarily, before gesturing to the shelves expectantly.
Stepping up behind the Wolperjack and bending forward to inspect the shelves thoughtfully, Icelyn clasps her hands together with excitement, "Wow, Drift these shelves have been put together so neatly, you have all the dry ingredients together-- oh, and look there is all the eggs and dairy!"

New Growth On The Peaktop Path
Skylar hauled themself up over a steep part of the path and paused to rest for a moment, as always finding their gaze drawn up toward the sparkling aurora overhead. It was slow going, but with the help of all the Adventurers' investigations, they were definitely making progress toward the top! The right path simply had to be here somewhere.
Hop was having no such trouble with the rough terrain. The Quibbit could flutter easily over the snowy crags with its glowing wings, and was taking full advantage of its mobility to explore the distant corners of the Celestial Pools.
"Back again, Hop?" Skylar greeted their companion. "What have you found this time?"
Hop croaked proudly and nudged another full gathering pouch into Skylar's hand.
Skylar examined the plants with wonder. "What are these? I've never seen anything like them..." Each and every plant that Hop had discovered was unfamiliar -- a thrilling prospect to Skylar's curious mind.
Skylar held one luminous flower up to examine it more closely, noticing how its glow almost seemed to match the dancing lights of the aurora up above. "If these had grown in the Celestial Pools before now, I'm sure I would have noticed them," Skylar remarked. "They must be growing now because of the superchill -- or maybe the aurora itself! We have to do more research."
"I think we're nearly there," Skylar said, looking back down the mountain to see the distance the investigation had already covered. "The path to the Peak has to be close now. Just a few more clues, and I think we can get there..."
Hop was already leaping a little further ahead, investigating a gap between two icy boulders. Skylar looked over at it when the Quibbit began to squeak and croak excitedly.
"Have you found something else?" Skylar asked, hurrying over to look.
Hop leaped aside to give Skylar room to look.
At first, Skylar couldn't quite tell what they were looking at. The snow was disturbed, but it was hard to tell which tracks were Hop's and which were made before the Quibbit had arrived. And there was a trail of something scattered between the rocks, like small speckles. What was that?
Skylar scooped up a handful of snow with the strange speckles on it, and realized they were crumbs. If they didn't know any better, they'd guess that somebody had messily enjoyed a snack of gingerroot cookies right here in the heights of the Celestial Peaks. But who -- or what -- could be doing such a thing?
"Nice find, Hop!" Skylar praised their friend. "But I'm not sure what to make of this for now..."
"Let's keep exploring, Adventurers!"

Aurorite Ore Mysteriously Appearing at Celestial Pools
Skylar looks out at the Adventurers and their pets as they expertly gather and fish around the Celestial Pools and hunt for a path up to the Peaktop. They look up at the Aurora filled sky with determination and set their sites on the Peak of the mountain itself.
"The Adventurers are really trying their best aren't they Hop?" Skylar commented optimistically to their froggy companion, "I can just feel we are getting closer to finding the path to the top."
Hop bounced up and down with excitement, a series of croaky chirps burst from it in agreement to Skylar's statement, handing them a gathering pouch from its recent haul exploring the pools.
"Oh, what is this?" Skylar poured out the contents of the bag onto the floor:
"Huh, I don't think I have seen this Ore show up in the Celestial Pools before...." Skylar picked it up and examined it, the colors flashing and reflecting the Aurora in the sky, "I seem to recall this has always been found in the Eerie Caves, but now it seems to be showing up here in the waterways, I wonder if it has anything to do with the superchill?"
"Keep exploring Celestial Pools adventurers, and hold onto this Aurorite Ore, it seems like there are more mysteries ahead of us!"
A Winter Harvest At The Berry Trees
Flora tucked her hands under her arms as she traversed the forest toward the Great Berry Tree. Even with gloves, it was almost too cold! But she simply needed to make the trek out to examine the magnificent Berry Tree. She wouldn't be able to rest until she was sure that the winter chill sweeping Santae had not brought it any harm.
After a short hike, the Berry Tree's familiar broad trunk came into view. Its crown was draped with heaps of fluffy white snow, making a few branches bend perilously toward the ground, but none were broken. Flora breathed a sigh of relief. Everything seemed to be fine!
In fact...maybe better than fine? A few strange shapes were visible, nestled into the snowy branches.
They were new berries! Flora delicately plucked one of each to examine them more closely. They were cold to the touch and tingling with the telltale sensation of magic.
Excited by her discovery, Flora decided to visit the Shadow Berry Tree. If the magical winter chill had caused the Great Berry Tree to bear new fruit, would the Shadow Tree have been affected the same way?
The Shadow Berry Tree's dark bark was covered in patches of ice, and its branches also bore a burden of snow. But sure enough, just a little searching was enough to turn up never-before-seen fruits among its snow-dusted leaves.
Flora was thrilled! Thanks to the care and tending of the Adventurers, both Berry Trees were full of enough life to bear fruit during any season. This magical winter harvest was just one more proof of that!

Daily Event Questing Difficulties and Rewards Revision
After initial user feedback regarding the Daily Event Quest difficulties, we have repealed the difficulty types for the duration of the Winterlight Festival. Starting at 00:00:00SST 21st December, the new round of daily event quests will only be our Ranger Difficulty (easy) and award one (1) Winterlight Machine Token for completion. These quests will be a random assortment from the Ranger quests available for each user.
The decision to keep these on an easy difficulty is to both make sure that WT market does not become over saturated, and to ensure it is still reasonable for all of our users to accomplish most tasks every day. We will review the rewards pool and return to varying difficulty quests after the Winterlight Aurora subsides. We will continue to receive feedback around the daily quests as we progress through the Story of Santae.

Difficulties Implemented into Daily Quests!
Upon reset at midnight, daily quests will now pull from a pool of quests that task and difficulty! Each adventurer will randomly be assigned six daily quests to complete for the day.
Each quest type will not be duplicated, meaning if you get a ranger level quest that requires you to beat Silvershade at Checkers once, you will not be assigned a hunter, sentinel or apex level quest requiring you to beat Silvershade at Checkers additional times.
The difficulty of each quest is randomly assigned, but you will always have two Ranger quests, two Hunter quests, one Sentinel quest and one Apex quest every day. Regardless of the difficulty of the quest, adventurers will be awarded one (1) Winterlight Token for their efforts.
Your daily quest will be different from your fellow adventurer's quests, so be sure to take note of which quests you've been assigned to complete before setting off!

Discover A Path To The Peaktop
Skylar sat on the snowy floor of the Celestial Peaks township with Hop, contemplating another of the Winterlight Machine Tokens they had received from Icelyn's new Daily Quests.
"Jasper said the tokens started appearing at the same time as the Aurora, right?" Skylar said, holding out the smooth, cold coin to their Quibbit companion.
Hop tilted their head with curiosity and tapped the coin with a synthwave-webbed forearm, letting out a bubbly coo of agreement.
"Which, is also right when the weather got so cold... starting this Winter! I'm sure this is all connected. Vespera must be right -- I need to go check the summit of the Peaks!"
"Adventurers! I need your help. Summiting the Celestial Peaks is no joke -- there's no clear trail that goes all the way to the top. But I'm sure if we work together, we can find a way to reach the Peaktop!
"Will you go Gathering at the Celestial Pools to examine the area for a usable path?
"Keep your eye out for more of those strange tokens while you're exploring, too!"
Community Event: Gather At The Celestial Pools
The path to the Peaktop is long, Adventurers, and Skylar needs your help to discover a safe way up to further investigate the mystery of the Luffins. You can help find the path by Gathering and Fishing at the Celestial Pools as much as you can!
A Community Tally of Gathering and Fishing expeditions will track how much information Adventurers have been able to gather about the path to the Peaktop. The higher this number climbs, the better. Your goal is to explore as much as possible before December 23rd 20:00:00 to help Skylar find the Celestial Peaktop.
Gathering and Fishing at the Celestial Peaks will also help you complete rewarding Personal Goals while Skylar is navigating the Celestial Peaks! You will also be able to progress through four difficulty levels of personal goals.
If you complete these Fishing and Gathering expeditions for your personal goals, you'll be rewarded with various prizes, such as the magical Thistletoe and Winterlight Machine Tokens, Winterlight Capsules and a Trophy!
Remember, you can collect one Token for free each day from your Daily Beta Reward and up to five more though Icelyn's Daily Quests.
The Winterlight Trophy will be awarded to everyone who participates in one part of any portion of the event.

As the winter snows and cool wind set in over Santae, is seems there are still many Plants and Fish that are thriving despite the superchill. This might be thanks to all that fishing up of trash the Adventurers have been doing across the globe. As you go out gathering and fishing around Santae you might find your brings are bringing in new items for your collections.
With the help of everyone, our waters are clearing and more fish are returning to our shores!
