Combining The Relic Shards
Before long they were airborne, soaring into Santae's wilderness to find the place depicted on the ancient medallion that had finally been made whole once more, after centuries…
As the adventurers flew, the sun climbed higher into the sky, reached its apex, and drifted back down toward the horizon. They pressed onward tirelessly even as twilight draped the land and the first stars began to appear overhead. But Vespera didn't want to stop -- she thought they were getting close!
All at once, she spotted it. The mountains on the horizon formed a distinctive silhouette. The curve of the river below was an unmistakable shape. The rolling valley directly below simply had to be the site of the mysterious Meadow they were looking for!
Vespera urged Ripple into a dive, spiraling down to land on the soft grass. The sunset suffused the area with golden light, illuminating an idyllic pasture -- and a craggy ruin.
Rose's Harlowin came in for a graceful landing nearby, letting Rose and Orion down from its back to join Vespera.
Orion gazed around in wonder. "The Meadow Forgotten...this is a very ancient place, indeed."
Rose ran one hand softly over the edge of a ruined block of stone. "But time has not been kind to whatever once stood here," she sighed. "The structures -- they're just as broken as the medallion was."
Vespera placed a hand on Rose's shoulder, sharing a small smile with the researcher. "Well," she remarked, "we fixed the medallion.
"Let's get some rest for tonight. But soon, we'll get a better look at this place. Maybe we can rebuild these ruins, too!"
No Longer Forgotten: Sanctuary Rising!
A new day had risen over the ruins in The Meadow Forgotten, and Vespera was ready to explore!
"Go carefully," Orion urged her. "Don't disturb the ruins -- but let us know right away if you find anything of interest!"
"I know. I will!" Vespera promised. "While I'm gone, can you send a message out to the Adventurers across Santae? We'll need their help to fully explore this place. Spread the word about how to reach us!"
"That's a wonderful idea," Orion agreed. "I'll get the word out!"
Vespera set out across the Meadow, marveling at the idyllic landscape. The grass was green and lush, the waters of the river ran clear, and the mountains on the horizon lorded over the scene with stately beauty. She could easily understand why ancient Adventurers would have used this place as a sanctuary!
But while nature had continued to thrive, the ravages of time had torn down the man-made structures. Vespera ducked into the shadow of a crumbling stone wall, trying to get a sense of what the building used to be.
The weathered stone itself didn't reveal any secrets, but Vespera noticed something hidden in the protected nook under the slanting blocks. Kept safe and dry by the stone, a scrap of paper was poking out from beneath the ruin.
Vespera swept the dirt and dust away, revealing a fragile scroll. "Oh!" She gasped, picking it up with care. "Orion and Rose need to see this..."
Vespera returned to where the researchers and her crew were encamped, waving to get everybody's attention. "Look -- look at this! I found something. A document, I think!"
The group gathered around as Vespera handed the scroll to Orion. The scholar carefully unrolled the ancient document, revealing its contents for the first time in centuries...
The surface of the scroll was covered in detailed diagrams and illustrations depicting a large structure: The magnificent shelter that used to stand proudly in the heart of the Meadow!
"Do you know what this means?" Vespera exclaimed. "We can use this as reference. Rebuilding the sanctuary is truly possible!"
"Yes!" Orion agreed. "How incredible this place must have been, in its prime. Together with the Adventurers, we can restore it to its former glory!"
