Something Is Shining In The Depths
The shores of the usually-serene Azure Abyss were bustling with activity! Rose had set up a small camp to form a base of operation for her studies of the local environment. Silvershade had come for a visit, curious to see if anything was going on with the Minimals in the area. And -- of course -- Adventurers from far and wide had gathered, busily casting their lines into the gleaming pool to pull out the piles of fishing trash clogging the water.
They had made some great progress. Thousands of pieces of trash had already been removed!
Even though the Abyssal Monster still hadn't reappeared, Rose thought it was time to see if their efforts were having any effect.
Rose picked up a notebook and pen and, with Dex at her side, went to peer into the lake. The luminous blue-and-violet waters certainly looked clearer. In fact, Rose thought she could finally see the very bottom...
"Fascinating!" She said, scribbling down some notes. "There's something down there that we haven't seen before. It's shiny and reflective...maybe some kind of rare crystal? Or ore?"
The shiny objects had caught Dex's attention too. The Harlowin splashed into the shallows and ducked underwater, paddling with its clawed feet to try and swim to the bottom. Rose watched Dex's figure waver and shrink a little as the Harlowin descended -- but the bottom was deeper than it looked! After only a little while, Dex twisted in the water and gave one mighty flap of its wings to propel itself back to the surface.
"Nice try, Dex," Rose praised her companion as the Harlowin clambered onto shore and shook the water from its scales. "But I think it's just too deep for you." If only she had another pet, one who lived in water!
Silvershade had watched the attempt unfold thoughtfully. They walked up to Rose and Dex, waving to get their attention.
"Hi, Professor Clearwater," Silvershade greeted Rose. "I couldn't help but notice your friend's predicament, there." They nodded at Dex with a smile.
"I've been thinking about it, and I think I've got something you might be interested to hear," Silvershade continued. "There's a certain Minimal I've heard of that I reckon could help out with your problem. I've never actually seen one myself, mind you. But once I get back to the Ranch, I could try to start tracking one down!"
"That would be wonderful. Thank you, Silvershade!" Rose said. "Please write to me should you discover anything useful. I'll be staying here until the mystery is solved."
"Will do," Silvershade nodded. "I'll get going now!"
Keep Fishing To Clear The Abyssal Lake
Great work, Adventurers! The waters of the Abyssal Lake are starting to clear up!
While Silvershade begins to investigate their mystery Minimal, we still have more work to do. If we can fish enough trash out of the pool, the ecosystem will start to return to balance and fish may begin to appear there again. Keep fishing -- the Abyssal Monster is counting on us!

Vespera's Rare New Treasures
Vespera was excited. An especially rare assortment of items had arrived, and it was time to see what kinds of treasures she could soon offer to the Adventurers of Santae.
On the counter of the sanDust Shop were a leather-bound album and a sealed crate. Vespera picked up the album first, undoing the latch that held it closed and carefully flipping the cover open.
Inside were sleeves of rare emblems — collectible stamps!
Vespera hummed appreciatively. “A very nice selection this time.”
As Vespera tilted the first page back and forth, the stamps reflected and glittered shifting gold-and-lavender light. They each featured a drawing of two hands clasped in a pinky-promise, but looking closer, the images were overlaid with delicately etched sacred runes. These Eternal Bond Stamps were lucky tokens to be exchanged between friends on the brink of a journey. It was said that the magic of the stamp would ensure that that no matter how far apart two individuals may be, their bond remains unbreakable!
On the second page, rows of stamps flashed with fiery energy. The triangular Flameborne Stamps reminded Vespera of her time at the Festival of Renewal in the Flamefall Cascades. The mark of the Flameborne Stamp was sure to grant strength and determination, making it popular among Adventurers seeking dangerous quests!
Vespera turned the page and couldn't suppress a gasp. The third page was glimmering with holographic swirls: The deep violets, hot pinks, and rich blues of an aurora dancing across the night sky. The tidy rows of Starlit Dreamer Stamps were beautiful -- and magical! Vespera had been told that the magic of this stamp opens one’s mind to the cosmos, allowing Adventurers and their pets to glimpse into future.
That was the last of them. Vespera closed and latched the album, ready to turn her attention to the crate. She tugged off the lid to reveal a selection of tantalizing-looking food and drink!
Henrietta the Phoehen was perched in the rafters of the shop, watching intently. When she saw what was inside the crate, she immediately swooped down on her fiery wings to get a closer look — and maybe steal a bite!
”No, Henrietta” Vespera laughed, gently shooing the Phoehen away. “That’s not a berry! It’s a Radiant Dawn Fruit! And I’m very sorry, but I can’t let you eat it. These are for the Adventurers.”
The Radiant Dawn Fruit did look delicious. Its skin shimmered with the gentle, golden glow of all the dawn light it had absorbed as it grew. Adventurers and their pets would certainly enjoy its sweet flavor and the boost of energy and warmth it provides!
Henrietta, seeing that she was out of luck, fluttered back up to her perch to watch the rest of the unpacking.
Dew the Iricampus was also interested in something inside the crate. The Iricampus nudged its nose against the stopper of a crystalline bottle containing luminous liquid.
“Sorry, Dew, that’s not for you either!” Vespera scooped Dew out of the box. “That’s the Nectar of the Deep. No wonder you wanted a taste of it, though, since you like to swim!” The Nectar came from the very deepest parts of the Azure Abyss, and was imbued with the powerful essence of deep ocean magic.
The rest of the crate was packed with a delicious-looking variety of foods — nearly a feast! The Enchanted Harvest Feast was a selection of delicacies fit for a banquet. Every element was made from the finest ingredients and it was also imbued with the magic of the land that produced it.
Looking to spend your hard-earned sanDust for rare and magical rewards? Visit Vespera at the sanDust Shop today!
The Eternal Bond Stamp, Flameborne Stamp, Starlit Dreamer Stamp, Radiant Dawn Fruit, Nectar of the Deep, and Enchanted Harvest Feast are all available in the sanDust shop right now, and will remain until the end of the Alpha Testing period. Delicious Berry Delicacies Now Available
Greetings, Adventurer! Lately some of my dear friends have been crafting delightful new recipes, all thanks to the extraordinary berries discovered from the Great Berry Tree.
These berries are unlike any of the other berries. They have the most delicious flavors and each of my friends have crafted their very own recipes for a completely new delicacy. Several of my friends have come to me, seeking help in gathering these unique berries for their latest experiments.
Of course, I thought of you all for assistance in this! I would love for you all to help create these delicious creations. When you are ready, come to my shop Leaf & Petal and I can guide you on your quest for delicacies!
Ever since the discovery of the Great Berry Tree, expert baker Breezyl along with other NPCs around Santae have been experimenting with all the delicious new berries found there.
Now, all their recipe-crafting has borne fruit. Breezyl, Lilliandra, Isadora and Bastion have invented eight new delicacies! "These recipes do degrade with each use, however, you can always come back to me and help out again to obtain another recipe!"
These new Berry Gourmet items are no ordinary treats. Pets with discerning palettes can now seek out these delicious new items and sample them to complete the New Berry Gourmet collection!
Breezyl, Lilliandra, Isadora and Bastion are eager to share their new inventions with Adventurers, but you'll need to provide the ingredients. If you bring a number berries of the appropriate type to each of them, They will give you the very recipe to allow you to create one of the new Berry Gourmet items for you to keep!
Can you collect them all?
Ive also contacted Nalani to help with speeding up the cooking process, and thanks to her Culinary Cravings quest, Nalani is now rewarding Kindling, which will reduce the time it takes to cook your delicacies!
Nalani has also graciously offered her kitchen, Culinary Creations, for adventurers to use when creating their gourmet delicacies!

New Minimals Bring Light And Darkness Into Balance
Vespera raised one hand to shade her eyes as she looked up at the bright sunny sky. River was soaring far overhead, visible as nothing more than a silhouette high above. The duo were out exploring and gathering, investigating the desert surrounding Mirage Haven.
They traveled all morning through the rolling dunes of golden sand. As noon drew near, the duo started looking for a place to take a break. A chirp from River far above caught Vespera's attention. The Raylen stooped into a shallow dive, guiding Vespera toward a small pool of water shaded by a handful of palm trees.
River came in for a landing as Vespera stepped gratefully into the shade. "Nicely spotted, River," Vespera praised her friend. "Did you see anything interesting from up there?"
River just shrugged her wings and chirped again. "It's okay," Vespera replied, understanding that River hadn't noticed anything of particular magical interest. "I haven't had too much luck either -- but we're just getting started!"
Vespera sat down with her back against one of the trees, happy to rest in the shade during the hottest and brightest part of the day. As Vespera and River relaxed, the sun finally reached the very highest point in the sky.
"What's that?" Vespera shaded her eyes to look at the horizon. A bright light was flashing there, almost as bright as a second noonday sun.
Vespera stood up. "It's getting closer!"
As Vespera and River watched, the streak of light dashed across the desert in front of them. As it drew a little closer, the light sparked and faded, revealing the creature at its heart:
It was a Minimal! The creature's pale fur gleamed under the noon light as it bounded over the dunes with playful leaps. As it ran, its glow began to intensify again. Brighter, and brighter, and brighter -- until it was so bright that Vespera had to blink and look away.
When her vision cleared, Vespera looked around. The brilliant Minimal had vanished.
"That was amazing," Vespera said to River as the duo finished their rest and prepared to keep moving. "I think I've heard legends about that Minimal. Solvara is said to be the embodiment of hope, clarity, and light!" Vespera smiled. "I can't believe we saw one."
Later, after a long day of adventuring, Vespera and River made camp in the shelter of the dunes. The pair were resting by the campfire, enjoying the night's cooler temperatures and admiring the blanket of brilliant stars overhead.
Suddenly, River's feathers all stood on end. The Raylen's gaze was fixed intently on the edge of the circle of firelight. Vespera looked in the same direction, trying to see what her friend had noticed.
It took a moment, but then she spotted it: A set of small footprints was appearing in the dust, slowly creeping around the camp! Vespera rubbed her eyes and then looked again. Those were definitely little footprints, but there was no creature standing there to make them.
River and Vespera kept their eyes fixed on the strange sight in front of them. Then, as they watched, the air around the footprints seemed to shiver and swirl with shadow. When the shadowy vortex disappeared, a Minimal was standing in its place!
The Minimal's eyes glimmered in the firelight, but the rest of its body was the soft blue of a shadowy twilight sky. The creature was looking directly back at Vespera and River. It obviously knew that it had been spotted! With a mischievous smirk, the Minimal crouched and leaped directly up into the air. At the apex of its jump, a curtain of deep shadow and gleaming starlight seemed to sweep across its form -- and it vanished from sight!
River's feathers smoothed out again. The Minimal was gone.
"Incredible," Vespera walked over to inspect the spot where the Minimal disappeared. "I think that was another creature of legend: the shadowy Umbrith!"
"Let's turn in, River," Vespera said. "First Solvara, now Umbrith...I have a feeling that if we wake up in time for sunrise, we might have a chance to see something even more magical!"
After a good night's rest, Vespera and River broke camp early in the morning -- so early that the sun wasn't even up yet. All packed up, they hiked to the top of a nearby dune to watch the beautiful sunrise.
In the east, the sun began to crest the horizon, sending a ray of brilliant light across the vast desert expanse. Over to the west, the horizon was still washed in shadow and glimmering with the faint light of the last few stars. Directly overhead, the bowl of the sky was divided perfectly between the growing light and the fading dark.
That's when Vespera saw it. It appeared at the top of a nearby dune, framed against the sky right where light and darkness met in perfect balance: A third Minimal!
"Do you see it, River?" Vespera gasped. "That's Ecliptorn!"
As River and Vespera watched, the Ecliptorn appeared to be watching the sunrise. Its colors slowly shifted between soft dawn light and deep twilight hues as the Minimal peacefully enjoyed the dawning of the new day. Then, as soon as the sun fully appeared above the horizon, it slipped over the crest of the dune and vanished from sight.
Adopt Solvara, Umbrith, and Ecliptorn Today!
To Vespera's surprise, the three legendary Minimals of light, darkness, and balance have followed her home to Shadow Veil Pass and the Cash Shop!
Is one of these Minimals the perfect companion for your pet? Adopt the brilliant Solvara, the shadowy Umbrith, or the harmonious Ecliptorn from Vespera's store! They won't stay forever -- Vespera thinks the trio will move on in a few weeks but will return once more eventually -- but right now you have the chance to bring the Minimals embodying light, darkness, and balance home with you.

The Problem In The Abyss
"Thank you for coming on short notice," Eldrin greeted Rose with a polite bow as she approached the shore of the Azure Abyss, Dex loyally at her side.
"My pleasure," Rose replied. "I only hope I can help! Let's take a closer look at what could be happening."
The two approached the still waters, unnervingly calm. Not a single ripple of movement appeared. The Abyssal Monster was still nowhere to be seen -- and according to Eldrin, it hadn't surfaced once in all the time it had taken for Rose to travel all the way from the Floating Pinnacles down to the Abyss.
"Very curious," Rose murmured deep in thought. "Has anything about its habitat changed recently?"
"Not to my knowledge," Eldrin replied. "The weather has been very mild, and the waters look as pristine as ever."
"Hmm. But then -- oh! Dex, what is it,?" Rose's train of thought was interrupted as her Harlowin, who had focused intently on the waters edge. Dex splashed into the shallows and emerged with something clutched in its claws.
"That's a piece of Fishing Trash!" Rose gasped, taking the soggy material from Dex's Claws.
"How did this get here?" Rose wondered aloud. "I clearly remember Skylar's reports from the discovery of Quibbit Cove. The waters of Valaria and Aleriea have been clearing of trash, thanks to the efforts of the Adventurers. Could an ocean current carried this here. Or an underwater passage we're unaware of?"
As Rose pieced the mystery together, Eldrin's gaze darkened as he looked deeper into the abyssal lake waters.
"This is more than just a single piece of trash," Eldrin said gravely. "There's a lot of it."
Rose and Eldrin peered into the depths. Beneath the glassy surface, heaps of fishing debris clogged the Abyssal Monster's once pristine lake. What was once a peaceful, shimmering lake, had been affected by our interference, and just as we had thought it was all clearing up.
"We need the Adventurers' help!" Rose cried, putting one hand on Dex's shoulder. "They've helped clean the waters before. If we can clear the trash out of this area, I'm sure I will be able to get a better look at what's going on here.
Help Clean Up The Abyssal Lake
Rose and Eldrin need your help, Adventurers! Stock up on fishing gear and visit the Azure Abyss to assist with the cleanup effort.
Rose needs the waters to be clearer in order to continue her investigation. The entire community needs to work together to fish out enough trash! Every piece of trash you fish out of the Abyss will count toward the overall community goal:
Let's work together to solve the mystery of the Abyssal Monster's disappearance!
